Abstract

Breastfeeding has benefits for the health and development of the baby, but also for the mother. the aim of this study is to assess certain risk factors of breast milk deficiency in women during lactation. The study was based on 150 voluntary individuals divided into Breastfeeding women with milk with average age of 31.11±4.56 years old and Breastfeeding women without milk with average age of 33.97±6.50 years old. Results of the risk factors show that Obesity, Contraception pills, Psychic stress and food deficit are significant (P <0.05) socioeconomic risk factors that cause loss of milk in breastfeeding women with OR (1.50- 2.85) and that Polycystic ovaries and Hypocalcaemia are significant (P <0.05) clinical risk factors for loss of milk in breastfeeding women with OR (2.08- 2.35). From the above, we conclude that breastfeeding is strongly affected by the lifestyle and some diseases that affect women, which requires sensitivity to improve these elements for safe breastfeeding.
