Abstract
Single junction solar cell with Cu2ZnSnSe4 material used as an absorber layer have been simulated by SCAPS-1D which is a one-dimensional solar cell capacitance simulator. The photovoltaic performance has been investigated against variation of charge and density of defects. It has been concluded that the defects in absorber layer must be reduced to a probable lower concentration obtain the improved photovoltaic efficiency. The charge type of the defects has also been found to show a significant role in assessing the photovoltaic performance of the solar cells.
