Abstract

Proton therapy plans are often thought to be highly sensitive to range and setup uncertainties. This study investigated robustness of passive scattering proton therapy (PSPT) plans used for treating targets of lung cancer patients and compared the worse-case scenario plans with the nominal proton plans as well as with the corresponding IMRT plans.
