Abstract

A general analytical solution for double potential step and related pulse techniques for a reversible charge transfer reaction when reactant and product are adsorbed following a linear adsorption isotherm at a plane electrode has been derived. In addition, no restriction about the values of t 1 and ′ (the duration of the first and second potential steps, respectively) has been assumed. Hence, this solution can be applied to describe the corresponding responses in normal pulse polarography (NPP), reverse pulse polarography (RPP), differential pulse polarography (DPP), differential normal pulse polarography (DNPP), and double potential step chronoamperometry.
