Abstract

In this work we report the propagation of the light waves within Bragg-Fibonacci (BM-FN) hybrid structures and the appearance of photonic bandgaps in the re∞ectance spec- trum of these systems, which are studied theoretically with the use of oblique incidence transfer matrix technique. In all cases, the discussion is made regarding the possible application of these structures as photonic quasicrystals. For the simulation we have adopted the typical parame- ters of a Porous-Silicon dielectric multilayer. It is found that a hybrid conflguration of the type BM-FN-BM is a promising candidate for resonant microcavities with strong mode localization.
