Abstract

A constant proportionate of woven E-Glass fiber reinforced Polyurethane (PUR)/Vinyl ester resin (VER) IPNs with different component ratios were synthesized and the polymerization processes were identified by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Thermal stability of the polymer was studied by TGA and DSC. In order to analyze the properties of the reinforced VER/PUR IPNs with different environmental conditions, proper mechanical tests such as Tensile, Compressive, Flexural, Impact and Heat Deflection Test were carried out as per the ASTM standards. The results exhibit that the mixture of 60%VER and 40%PU blend shown the improved impact strength as well as max. elongation during break. Whereas slight drop in mechanical strength in all tests were noticed. The scanning electron microscope analysis as well as performed on the reinforced and unreinforced composite.
