Abstract

Polymer composite films of (100-x) PEO:x IL (l-ethyl-3-methylimidazoliumTosylate) have been successfully prepared by hot-press and solution cast techniques for x = 0-50 wt.%. Impedance spectroscopic studies show the presence of grain boundaries in hot-press films. Inspite of this, the electrical conductivity a (hot-press sample) was higher than a (solution cast films). A possible explanation based on the presence of 'run through' and 'broken' pores/ voids in the film is suggested.
