Abstract

This paper presents a high-voltage impulse generated using piezoelectric materials by an elastic wave. The impact method was a high-pressure gas gun with projectiles and the type of stress wave was an elastic wave. The results were different from the previous method using high explosive (shock wave). The charge release phenomenon that cannot be explained by the piezoelectricity theory occurred as under shock wave. But pulse duration is longer than the transit time of wave and the piezoelectricity phenomenon also occurred in the time of pulse generation. This complex phenomenon cannot be explained by the previous research under the stress wave experiments or conventional piezoelectricity theory.
