Abstract

This paper reports the results of an investigation on the effects of yarn bending rigidity on fabric surface protrusion. The bending rigidity is regarded as the multiple of the elastic modulus E, and the moment of inertia of the cross-section of the yarn (EI). The study was based on an analytical model adopted from the elastic theory. The experimental results are found to be in reasonable agreement with the theoretical values.
