Abstract

We have studied the 1 f noise behavior of an YBa 2Cu 3O 7/PrBa 2Cu 3O 7 superlattice sample in the normal state, and, measured, for comparison, the 1/f noise power of an YBa 2Cu 3O 7 film and PrBa 2Cu 3O 7 film. The noise power of superlattice sample is about 2 order of magnitude lower than that of YBa 2Cu 3O 7 film, close to the reported noise level in YBa 2Cu 3O 7 single crystal. The results are analysed by a simplified parallel noise sources model. The high level of 1 f noise in PrBa 2Cu 3O 7 film prefers an origin of incipient localization for copper-oxide superconductors in the normal state.
