Abstract

Homo binuclear binary and mixed-ligand complexes of Cu(II) with L-dopa [A] and amino acids [L] (glycine, α-alanine, phenylalanine, tyrosine, tryptophan) or Bipy [L] have been investigated by potentiometry, UV-VIS spectrophotometry and cyclic voltametry in aqueous medium at T = 30°C and I = 0.2 M (NaClO 4). Experimental data have been obtained for the following species: [CuAH 2], [CuACu], [CuAH 2L], [LCuACu], and [LCuACuL]. The formation of binuclear species has been confirmed by UV-VIS spectral studies and C.V. studies in solutions. The stability of the complexes has been explained on the basis of intramolecular interligand interactions between the side groups over the ligands.
