Abstract

A flexible metasurface based on gold rod resonator arrays on a polyimide substrate in the terahertz band is presented. Four different resonator structures with various azimuth angle were designed and investigated. Experimental results demonstrate that the azimuth angle of the gold rod resonators have a significant impact on the terahertz waves under different polarization conditions. Experimental studies on the bending performance reveal that the spectral modulation characteristics of the flexible metasurface is robust within a degree of bending. In addition, the effect of the incident angle on the resonant peaks was investigated, and the redshift of the high-frequency resonant peak was found as the incident angle increases.
