Abstract

This paper presents a research under developing about information organization in institutional repositories of learning objects . The project proposal is based on the results obtained in previous studies that got a more efficient information retrieval on digital libraries through the use of the Faceted Analysis Theory and Concept Maps . The aim of this research is to demonstrate the applicabilion of the faceted analysis theory as conceptual model to structure contents of repositories of learning objects, demonstrate the suitability of using concept maps as a potential mechanism to logical organization of learning objects, facilitate the search and retrieval of content in repositories of learning objects and contribute to greater reuse of learning objects in educational institutions . The initial results of the research shows the structure of the development of the repository using the Information Architecture for the functional, structural, navigational and visual design of the learning object repository.
