Abstract

We study the effect of parameters such as the system size on the evolution of soap froth and cellular structures. Experiments show a significant effect of the size and the composition of the foaming liquid. Simulations based on Telley’s model (Laguerre tessellation) are in good agreement with experiments and confirm the effect of size. We give here a detailed description of the experiments and the image treatment (including bias correction) as well as the basic concepts of the model for simulating 2D foam coarsening.
