Abstract

This paper reports the growth and spectral properties of Er3+/Yb3+:NaY(MoO4)2. Er3+/Yb3+:NaY(MoO4)2 crystal with dimension Π20×40mm2 has been grown by the Czochralski method. Er3+/Yb3+:NaY(MoO4)2 crystals melt congruently at 1124 °C. The hardness of Er3+/Yb3+:NaY(MoO4)2 crystal is 314 VDH. The spectral characterization of Er3+/Yb3+:NaY(MoO4)2 was investigated. The 552nm green light of up-conversion emissions was observed when the sample was excited with 980nm of the LD. The mechanism of energy transfer from the sensitizer Yb3+ to the activator Er3+ was analyzed.
