Abstract

SCAPS simulation software was used to simulate heterojunction solar cell having CdTe absorber layer. Investigations on the photovoltaic performance parameters has been made against variation of defect concentration and charge states. It has been observed that the concentration of absorber layer defects must be minimized to a least possible value in order to attain the enhanced photovoltaic efficiency. The charge type of the defects has also been found to play an important role in influencing the photovoltaic performance parameters of the solar cells.
