Abstract

The Cloud Computing is very popular topic in now a days. We are still in early years of cloud computing development which provides lots of scope for researcher. In most of the cloud services the clients follow “Pay and Use” concepts. Cloud services providers charge for the resource use. So it is important to distribute resources in an efficient way for on demand application of the clients. One of the way in cloud computing is multi-tenant architecture which provides self managing of the resources. DDAP2 (Dynamic Distributed Allocation Policy 2) is one of the simplest resource allocation algorithm that is used for CPU allocation. But DDAP2 is not providing a better allocation for memory. In this paper we studied the memory allocation using DDAP2. We modified some of the policies of DDAP2 for memory allocation, which gives better allocation of memory in cloud computing environment. The memory allocation is improved using DDAP2 by adapting a new policy based on CPU allocation using DDAP2. This algorithm dynamically allocates the overall capacity between VMs based on their demand. The modified approach is scalable for better allocation of CPU and memory resources according to the users' demand.
