Abstract

Sodium ion batteries are considered as a cost effective and promising alternative to lithium ion batteries for next generation large scale energy storage applications. However, the sluggish intercalation kinetics and poor stability plagues the efficient applications.[1] Recently sodium rich cathode materials are emerging as a promising system to retain high specific energy with improved durability. Benefiting from the stabilizing property of other transition metal [TM = Cu, Cr] , the same is used as a substitute in Ti site and improved stability have been achieved. [2] In this work, we developed a high performing doped cathode of Sodium Titanium Oxide (Na2TiO3) as a battery positive electrode. The highly favorable architecture in both the electrodes showed an enhanced capability towards ion storage. A high energy retention at high power condition along with high stability have been achieved.
