Abstract

A study of the cross-talks for multi-strip resistive plate chambers (RPC) read-out was carried out using the beam and Inner Spark Pulser data. The influence of the surface resistivity of the high voltage (HV) electrode graphite coating on the induced charge spread among the read-out strips was observed. The waveforms and relative amplitudes of the cross-talks (CT) signals were studied for different discharge positions across the strips. No cross-talk and cluster size reduction was obtained for the strip panel with tiny screening strips as compared to the ordinary panel.
