Abstract

The LHCb experiment is a particle detector located at the LHC and dedicated to b and c quark studies, in particular, the study of CP violation. The concept and the performance of the detector will be presented, together with first results of the experiment. The recorded integrated luminosity of 0.3 fb−1 has allowed LHCb to obtain already significant important measurements concerning tests of the presence of New Physics effects in the decay of Bs mesons.
