Abstract

The subsuperior bronchi cover the area of lower lobe of lung that is remained deficient between superior segmental bronchus and Posterior segmental bronchus and is present in both right and left lungs. A subsuperior (Subapical) segmental bronchus arises posteriorly from the left inferior lobar bronchus. In more than half of all right lungs a subsuperior (Subapical) segmental bronchus arises posteriorly from the right inferior lobar bronchus 1 to 3 cm below the superior segmental bronchus. Nowadays segmental resection of the lung has become practical and routine. Recently pulmonary angiography is done to diagnose the obscure causes of the disease of lungs. Computerized pulmonary function test has become the basis of assessing Lung functions. Peak flow meter is used to determine the lung capacity. Knowledge of Bronchopulmonary segment has been very helpful in postural drainage1.
