Abstract

Abandonment of non-renewable fuels in the system of existing attitudes toward environmental issues and resource conservation accompanies the development of society and the economy. This paper presents the results of integrated operational tests of KVM-2.0 boilers with automatic stoker and KVR-0.4K at heat supply facilities of the Arkhangelsk region with their typical operating conditions on coal, fuel mixtures, peat briquettes and sod peat. In the framework of studies on the conversion of boilers to peat fuel, balance experiments were carried out, technical, economic and environmental performance indicators were obtained, focal residues were sampled and studied, aerosols and soot particles emitted into the atmosphere were examined in depth. When performing experimental work, modern research methods and advanced technical tools were used.
