Abstract

Comparative studies of the coefficient of friction and wear of the pair "cylinder mirror — piston ring" of the internal combustion engine using ceramic coatings obtained by micro-arc oxidation technology (MDO). Practical tests have shown the effectiveness of the use of MDO technology for the cylinder mirror to reduce the coefficient of friction and reduce the wear of the piston ring. The conclusion is made about the necessity of introduction of the considered technology into serial production of engines.
