Abstract

A driving safety model considering comfort during the driver's actual driving experiences is established. The value of acceleration is used to measure the comfort. In order to balance the safety and comfort of drivers during the braking process, the model is setup by multi-objective optimisation method of combining with driving comfort, braking distance and pedal force. Then the output of the model is analysed by memetic algorithm to make the braking distance smaller than the safety distance, and the driving comfort is optimised as well. The results of experiment show that the best solution of the model can satisfy the constraints of the comfort and safety distance at the same time. The braking strategy proposed in this paper is feasible and practical.
