Abstract

By the use of microbiological studies an Ayurvedic physician can choose accurate drug for particular disease. K eeping this view in mind present study was conducted to screen antifungal activity of Hinguliya manikya rasa on Candida albicans . For this, Hinguliya Manikyarasa was prepared by Kupipakwa rasayana method as given in Rasatarangini. The culture and sensitivi ty method used was tube dilu tion method (Agar slant method) so in the present study t he dru g was serially diluted from 0.5mg/ml concentration to 8 mg/ml concentrations . All 90 samples were used and it was found that Candida albicans shows significant sensit ivity to Hinguliya manikya rasa at 8 mg/ml concentration level as compare to Placebo .
