Abstract

We present a dynamical analysis of deep inelastic collisions between two $^{98}\mathrm{Mo}$ ions at ${\mathit{E}}_{\mathrm{c}.\mathrm{m}.}$=14.7 MeV/nucleon using two different models. The first, a microscopic model, is based on the Landau-Vlasov equation which includes a two-body residual-interaction collision term. The second model is based on a macroscopic approach which uses collective shape degrees of freedom and a one-body dissipation mechanism. The results of our microscopic calculations show good qualitative agreement with experimental data.
