Abstract

Observing efforts to determine whether safety planning for suicidal patients in the emergency department (ED) is linked to lower readmissions, researchers found that safety planning was in fact associated with fewer subsequent ED and inpatient admissions among patients treated in the ED for suicidal behavior.
