Abstract

This article presents results of a study of the structural and physical inhomogeneity of an ingot used to produce rolled sections. The temperature of the outside surface of the ingot is measured as the ingot solidifies in the ingot mold and the thermal efficiency of the hot top is calculated. The data that are obtained show that the ingot must be modernized in order for it to be used to obtain large sections.
