Abstract
In this retrospective study, we report the frequency and main causes of sudden deaths in Moscow over 3year period. Frequency of sudden death is 78 134 cases. Males were 63.0% of cases. The incidence of sudden death was highest in the 2 age extremes (39% were 40–59 year old and 57.5% were elderly). The most important direct causes of sudden death were cardiovascular diseases (93%). 15% of outpatient medical records were filled in the course of pronouncement of death. A divergence in diagnosis occurred in 45.1 % of cases.

Summary
Оказание первичной медико-санитарной помощи в амбулаторных условиях прижизненно не осуществлялось 120 лицам, скончавшимся скоропостижно. То есть смертность от управляемых причин во многом зависит от качества первичной медикосанитарной помощи в амбулаторных условиях. Поиск показателей контроля деятельности амбулаторно-поликлинических учреждений с целью оценки деятельности медицинских работников является одним из актуальных направлений по совершенствованию качества первичной медико-санитарной помощи в амбулаторных условиях. Как инструмент контроля качества медицинской помощи судебномедицинская экспертиза давно и широко применяется для оценки качества диагностики и лечения в условиях стационара [5]. Хотя «деятельность судебномедицинской службы направлена на всемерное содействие органам здравоохранения в улучшении качества лечебной помощи и проведение профилактических мероприятий» [6], судебно-медицинская экспертиза для обнаружения дефектов оказания медицинской помощи в амбулаторных условиях используется только в некоторых субъектах РФ [7, 8]
