Abstract
Among patients in the Caribbean area taking progesterone-estrogen combinations cyclically in oral contraception the rate of development of suspicious Papanicolaou smears was significantly lower than the rates observed in users of other contraceptive devices. Neither the progress of cervical anaplasia nor cervical carcinoma was significantly affected by the use of these drugs in the small number under observation. A significant reduction in endometrial dysplasia and endometritis was observed in the drug users.
