Abstract

1) An infection of Trichomonas vaginalis was revealed in 45 cases out of 1303 urine specimens from male patients and in 17 cases out of 361 urine specimens from female patients, visited the out-patient clinic of Department of Urology, Keio University Hospital during three years period from 1964 to 1966.2) As to the specimens of prostatic fluid and fluid of seminal vesicles, trichomonas vaginalis was found in 29 out of 170 cases.3) In some cases, though the treatment with antibiotics was not performed, aseptic urine specimens with a numerous white blood cells, indicate the existence of inflammatory foci in genito-urinary tracts.4) Chronic prostatitis, 27.6 per cent of cases with trichomonas infection, was the most common clinical diagnosis of trichomonas vaginalis infection in genitourinary tracts, and non-gonorrheal urethritis, 17.2 per cent of cases with trichomonas infection, followed to the next. Not the all but some of these diseases are possible to be occured by trichomonas vaginalis.5) It was recognized that the incidence of trichomaona vaginalis infection was higher in married group then in unmarried group with the obvious rate of differences.
