Abstract

Descriptions and some range extensions are given for 10 species of eelpouts ranging from the Ross to Weddell seas, Antarctica. The new specimens, from eight sampling cruises, broaden descriptive data previously reported by Anderson (1988) for Dieidolycus leptodermatus, Lycenchelys antarctica, L. aratrirostris, L. argentina, Oidiphorus mcallisteri, Ophthalmolycys bothriocephalus, Pachycara brachycephalum and Seleniolycus laevifasciatus. In addition, Bothrocara molle, previously known from Japan to Chile, is reported from off South Georgia in 1286–2187 m.
