Abstract

1. The β-globulins of goat were identified to be transferrins. Transferrins of goat sera were classified into three phenotypes (the 1st, the 2nd, and the 3rd types). The three phenotypes of β-globulin of goat described by Ashton were considered to be transferrins.2. The frequencies of appearance of the transferrin phenotypes on goats were as follows: I type 83.49%, II type 14.97%, III type 1.54%.3. Wide differences were observed on the frequencies of appearance of the transferrin phenotypes among J. G., T. G., R. G., S. G., G. G., I. G., and H. G.
