Abstract

SummaryCystocarpic and tetrasporic plants of Agardhiella robusta (Grev.) Boergs., collected from Bombay, were analysed separately for the constituent amino acids in the proteins, peptides and in free state, by using a quantitative paper chromatographic technique. A total of twenty‐four amino acids were detected in them. Qualitative variations occurred between cystocarpic and tetrasporic specimens only in the peptide hydrolysates, and quantitative differences were observed in some individual amino acids in the proteins, peptides and in the free state.
