Abstract

On the high ionic strength extracts of muscles of clam, partitional fractionation of protein components by solubility, and ATPase acivity of the extracts were studied. Content of muscle stroma of adductor muscle seemed to be alike to that of fish muscles, and in other hand this value of foot muscle rather seemed to be alike to that of rabbit muscle. Globulin X fraction was very little. ATPase of clam muscles seemed to be alike to ATPase of other shell-fishes and other animals qualitatively, these pH-activity curve having two peaks at pH 5.8 and 8.3.
