Abstract

AbstractKinetics of benzoyal peroxide initiated polymerisation of vinyl easters of n‐butyric, iso‐butyric, n‐caproic, isocaproic acids in benzene were investigated. In all the systems the rate of polymerisations were found to be much less as compared with bulk polymerisation, than can be attributed to dilution of the monomer. The reactions with respect to monomer concentration were found to be a higher order (1.8 to 1.9) than unity. The constants of chain transfer to benzene (CS) and to benzoyal peroxide (CI) have been obtained.
