Abstract

(1) Thirteen amino acids have been identified in the cyst fluid and ethanolic extracts of Taenia crassiceps larvae. (2) A further eight have been identified in hydrolyzates of larval protein. (3) These amino acids have been compared with eleven identified in mouse peritoneal fluid. (4) The amino acid content of T. crassiceps larvae has been shown to be unchanged qualitatively during 4 days in vitro culture. (5) T. crassiceps larvae appear to be capable of synthesizing arginine, threonine, tryptophan, and tyrosine.
