Abstract

Influenza virus otitis media from the last decade of Oct. '58 to Jan. '54, wereobserved when the analogous disease of influenza was prevalent at Kanazawa and the surrocunding districts.The middle ear fluid of the otitis media influenza were taken directly and an attempt to separate the virus was performued. The 4 stumps of virus separated were identificated as Kokuritsu Kanazawa I, II, III, and IV, and had similar antigenic structure. They were presumed to be influenza A-prime virus.From the results of serological examinations in both patients of influenza and otitis media infleunza the influenza virus separated from the middle ear fluid by the anethor corresponded to the prevalent stumps of this year.To nceud that the influenza virus is the sole cause of the otitis media influenza could not be comfiramed.
