Abstract

The electro-optic effects of two vertically stacked quantum wires in magnetic fields are investigated, and the analytic forms of the electro-optic effects of this system are derived by means of density-matrix treatment. The numerical results are presented for GaAs/Al x Ga 1− x As double quantum wires. Finally, the electro-optic effects versus the magnetic field B, the photon energy ℏ ω and the interlayer distance D are plotted.
