Abstract

1. 1. Rat serum free amino acid levels were elevated up to 2.3-fold at 4–8 hr after experimentally induced inflammation, but returned close to control levels at longer times after inflammation. 2. 2. Hepatic free amino acid levels were depressed at early times after inflammation, but increased up to 3.6-fold at 12–48 hr after inflammation. 3. 3. Elevated levels of taurine in liver were observed at 4–48 hr after inflammation.
