Abstract
Two genetically distinct Dasycercus are correctly named D. cristicauda (crest-tailed mulgara) and D. blythi (brush-tailed mulgara). Some publications reporting observations have mistakenly referred to D. cristicauda when the animal was really D. blythi. Based on the source of the material I document the species on which the observations were made in all publications known to me.
