Abstract
Summary Positive inotropic and chronotropic actions of dibenamine, chlorpromazine and phentolamine in cats in barbiturate anesthesia were present following administration of ganglion-blocking drugs or section of the cervical spinal cord but were prevented by reserpine pretreatment. Hypertensive actions of dibenamine, chlorpromazine, phentolamine, piperoxan and hydergine following ganglion-blocking drugs or section of the cervical spinal cord were not inhibited by reserpine. Phentolamine and hydergine did not elevate the blood pressure when the adrenergic vasoconstrictor receptors were blocked.
