Abstract
1. 1. Blood from male and one lactating female Sarcophilus harrisii was subjected to haematological and biochemical examination. 2. 2. High acid phosphatase and blood urea levels were found. 3. 3. Alkali resistant haemoglobin formed a substantial proportion (27–37 per cent) of the haemoglobin, and the blood exhibited remarkable clotting power. 4. 4. α 1-globulin was not identified in the blood and γ-globulin levels were high in all individuals.
