Abstract

Some polyfluoroalkyl t-butyl nitroxide radicals have been generated by using 2-methyl-2-nitrosopropane (MNP) to trap polyfluoroalkyl radicals formed in sulfinatodehalogenation reactions. Several oxyanion radicals of sulfur generated directly from sulfinatodehalogenation reagents are observed for the first time. All these support the SET mechanism for the sulfinatodehalogenation reaction proposed to account for the experimental results.
