Abstract
Abstract Oxidation of methyl 3-O-benzyl-4,6-O-benzylidene-2-oximino-α-d-arabino-hexopyranoside (5) with trifluoroperoxyacetic acid afforded in 76% yield the corresponding 2-nitro-glucopyranoside (6) which has a twist-boat conformation in chloroform.
