Abstract

Effects of temperature on mechanical strength of eight samples were investigated.(1) Tensile strength of paper impregnated with insulating oil decreases with increasing temperature, but elongation of that unchanges.(2) Tensile strength of oil impregnated paper was little less than that of unimpregnated paper at 110°C, and intimate energy calculated from stress-strain curve under the slow strain speed condition (2mm/min) decreases with increasing temperature.(3) The results of these tests indicated that frictional strength was much less than force of hydrogen bond in paper, and mechanism of tensile strength for paper under a little water-absorbed condition was discussed; consequently, it was assumed that constitutional factor of paper strength should be following;A) Force of hydrogenhond in interfibre.B) Force of hydrogenbond fibre-water-fibre bonding.C) Frictional strength in interfibre.
