Abstract

Lead Zirconate Titanate(Pb (Zrx Ti1-x)o3) is one of the perovskite can be used for generating electricity by applying mechanical pressure and also can be used of developing deflection by applying electrical field. Many researchers are employing this material for both the applications because of their excellent electromechanical response by using ambient vibrations. Mechanical properties such as compressive strength and hardness of Lead Zirconate Titanate coated brass patch called as PZT patch were studied. The morphology of the PZT powder was studied in scanning electron microscopy (SEM).Electrical properties such as impedance was studied by using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The geometry of PZT -5H patch is 35 mm diameter of Brass patch and 28mm diameter is coated with Lead Zirconate Titanate(PZT-5H). The compressive strength of PZT-5H patch was 4267.516 N/sq.mm and the BHN 78 for PZT material was recorded for designing the energy harvester (EH) by using PZT-5H patches and also recommended that the EH can be operated at both sinusoidal and random excitations.
