Abstract

Polyacrylamide gel disc-electrophoretical studies were carried out on LDH isozymes in the brain from rats fed with a diet containing an organic mercury compound, methylmethylmercuric sulfide (CH3HgSCH3).The results were summarized as follows:1) Total LDH activity of cerebellar homogenate was found to be higher in the group of rats with organic mercury poisoning than in the controls, but the cerebral homogenates showed no significant difference.2) Percentage distribution of LDH isozymes in the cerebrum and the cerebellum did not show any significant differences among experimental and control groups.
