Abstract

Summary Dietary protein and the various nitrogenous constituents of milk of 60 lactating women were estimated and it was found that intitial increases in dietary protein were accompanied by an increase in the total nitrogen and protein nitrogen contents of milk and a decrease in the free amino acid nitrogen content, a further increase of dietary protein having no effect on the amount of these constituents in milk.
