Abstract

The sensory structures on the tip of the ovipositor which are used by the cynipid secondary parasite Charips victrix (Westwood) to discriminate among primary parasite host larvae in the haemocoels of aphids are described. In addition, a synopsis of host selection and certain inferences concerning the host specificity of C. victrix are presented.
